Types of Millets
There are many varieties of millet grown all over the world, however currently nine types of millets have been formally identified. These have been categorized into two groups: “Positive Millets” and “Neutral Millets.” The five millets in the “Positive Millets” category are Browntop Millet, Barnyard Millet, Little Millet, Kodo Millet, and Foxtail Millet. The four millets in the “Neutral Millets” category are Finger Millet, Proso Millet, Pearl Millet, and Sorghum.
Positive Millets
These types of millet possess properties that can aid in the prevention, treatment and recovery from many varied health conditions. They contain high levels of beneficial nutrients which are vital for optimal health.
Neutral Millets
While not quite as beneficial as positive millets, these millets still possess many properties that can help to maintain overall positive health. They contain various beneficial essential nutrients for the body.
